I've been waiting for this movie since it was a glimmer of a rumour...I knew that "accommodations" would have to be made, and that to do it full justice would have taken the money and time commitment given to the likes of LOTR, a totally unreasonable expectation.
I was was surprisingly disappointed by the mesh (rather, the lack thereof) of 2d and 3d animations, but what I DID enjoy were the memories triggered of how rich and deep the novel itself is, and how it's reminded me that it is time for me to cycle through the Dragonlance books once again.
I doubt that many posting here are old enough to remember the abysmal "first offerings" of Tolkien made by Rankin and Bakshi, but eventually they led to Jackson's much more satisfying treatment. "Have faith" people, and perhaps some day (may I live long enough to see it!), our beloved world of Dragonlance may also receive fair time and treatment.
Many thanks to Tracy and Margaret for sharing their gifts with us.
